The Serviam Garden is well on its way!

Serviam Girls Academy, 8/05/2020
In preparation for the move into the city of Wilmington, many safely gathered on August 5, 2020, for Serviam's Garden Day event.
Serviam Girls Academy and a team of parents, students, volunteers, Board Directors, Grace Church volunteers, and many more joined together to clean up an old playground to build an educational garden space, the fruits of which will be shared with the community.
A HUGE thank you to the wonderful team of people who joined the fray to help install the garden beds, fill them with soil, and lay mulch throughout. It was a massive undertaking and the team worked tirelessly to complete the project!
Special thanks go out to the Serviam community for making this happen.
Thank you! Katie LeCocq for your extraordinary dedication and organization of the day. She kept everyone organized, safe, well-hydrated, fed, and on task! Thank you Katie; you went above and beyond!
Al Dupree for dedicating a full day to helping Serviam; it literally could not have done it without you! For at least five hours non-stop, Al effortlessly maneuvered a small front loader around tight corners, back and forth endlessly to efficiently move mulch and soil. YOU are the KING!
The Garden Guru, Brooke Buffington, who is the mastermind behind Serviam's garden program. She has tireless dedication! She facilitated the wood chip delivery and worked hard throughout the day. Thank you for everything Brooke!
The Healthy Foods Healthy Kids Team -- Thianda, Lindsay, and Jenn -- thank you for sharing your expertise and time to the layout and install the garden beds. We are inspired and deeply appreciative of your commitment to educational gardening.
Stacy, Altina, Fallon, and Dora (a Public Ally) for dedicating a full (or almost) day from their crazy schedules to build a garden. Your steadfast dedication is awe-inspiring. Thank you.
Mary Kate, Moira, and Rory McKenna, Peyton Jenkins, Jerry Buckworth and Chelsea Spyres from Grace Church, Danielle Black and Sondra (mom), Bobby Heins, and Bob Kirkwood (Board Chair), Verona and Anissa Brown (5th-grade student) for dedicating 1 - 3+ hours throughout the day. We absolutely could not have done it without you!
Stay tuned as this is only the beginning of our Serviam Garden!
