Because our 5th graders are new to Serviam and still quite young, their classroom is“self-contained.” With the exception of science, 5th grade students receive instruction in all academic subjects in the 5th grade homeroom.
6th Grade Curriculum

- Language Arts: Writing, Grammar, and Vocabulary
- Math: 6th grade integrated math
- Science: Physical Science, Life Science (Living Systems), Earth Science (Landforms, Rocks)
- Social Studies: World History and Cultures
- Religion: Study of the Bible (Old Testament/Religious Community)
- Study Skills
7th Grade Curriculum
- Reading: Novel Based
- Language Arts: Writer’s Workshop
- Math: Pre-Algebra
- Science: Physical & Life Science (Ecology, Biology)
- Social Studies: United States History 1
- Religion: Study of the Bible (New Testament/Spirituality for Self)
- High School Preparatory Skills
8th Grade Curriculum
- Reading
- Language Arts: Writer’s Workshop
- Math: Pre-Algebra/Algebra 1
- Science: Biology, Ecology, Physical Science
- Social Studies: United States History II
- Religion: World Religions, Moral Compass, and Values
- High School Preparatory Skills: Essays, Applications, Communication skills, etiquette, etc.
In addition to the core curriculum, each student will participate in daily physical education classes, health and nutrition classes 2 - 3 times per week, daily quiet study hall, and enrichment activities at the end of the day.
